About Maxine - Professional

Maxine worked in counselling and voluntary agencies before training as a psychotherapist, first at the Bath Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre and later at the Karuna Institute. She has also trained with Franz Ruppert in transgenerational trauma through constellations, and with Babette Rothschild in Somatic Trauma Therapy.

She has been in private practice since 1986, working with a wide range of clients. She sees people both short and long term, and supervises counsellors and psychotherapists. She is registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.

As a trainer, Maxine has worked for the Karuna Institute, Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling, the University of Leicester, the WEA Workplace Unit, and many other educational centres. She also runs occasional workshops on working with shock and trauma, meditation and awareness.

Maxine was the editor of Self & Society from 1998-2008 (www.ahpb.org.uk).
